Member Board Executive Director

Cynthia J. McKim, Montgomery, AL, has been employed with the Alabama Board for Registration of Architects since October 1988. She became the board’s executive director in October 1996. Throughout her years with the Alabama Board, McKim has been appointed to serve on committees and task forces touching all aspects of NCARB services, including the Committee on IDP, the Member Board Executives Committee, Procedures and Documents Committee, and task forces seeking to eliminate challenges to interstate practice of architecture and registration of foreign-educated and licensed architects. 

McKim was awarded the NCARB President’s Medal for Distinguished Service in June 2002, in recognition for her service to the Council. In 2008, she was elected as the first Member Board Executive to serve on the NCARB Board of Directors.
