By earning NCARB certification, architects often
expedite reciprocitythe process through which
they can offer their professional services in different
jurisdictions. All licensed, certified architects
have met the rigorous standards established by U.S.
registration boards that are responsible for protecting
the public health, safety, and welfare.
For more details on NCARB certification, read the
U.S. Requirements
page. To learn more about reciprocity and its role
in the architectural profession, visit the Reciprocity
section.
To confirm that an individual is a licensed architect
in a particular jurisdiction, check with the respective
NCARB member board. Many states include rosters of
licensed architects on their web sites. Links to NCARB
member board web sites are provided in the State
Boards section.
