Sorrenti

John R. Sorrenti is founder and president of JRS Architect, P.C., a full service architectural firm with three locations serving the greater New York tri-state area. Since its inception in 1986, the firm has grown from six to 35 professionals and received numerous design awards under Sorrenti’s leadership.

A fellow of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and national chair of the College of Fellows Regional Representatives, he also serves as chair of the New York State Board of Architecture, vice chair of the Town of North Hempstead Landmarks Commission and a board director of Madison National Bank. Previous professional leadership positions include vice president of National AIA, president of New York State AIA, and president of the Long Island AIA Chapter.

An NCARB volunteer since 2006, he subsequently served as chair and treasurer of Region 2 and chair of the Committee on Professional Development before joining the Board.

In 2008, Sorrenti was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the AIA Long Island Chapter in recognition for over 20 years of outstanding achievement in the architectural profession.

Sorrenti received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) in 1972, a Masters in Architecture from Ohio University in 1974, and a Masters in Business Administration from NYIT in 1978.
